New Moon’s New Fan

My independent reading novel was “New Moon” by Stephanie Meyer, the second book in the Twilight series. Now before I go any further I know what all of you are thinking. It’s probably something along the lines of “Whoa whoa whoa, a guy liking Twilight?”, but yes it is true. Now I’m not some “Twi-hard”, (for the Twilight inclined that is a Twilight diehard) but I do enjoy reading the novels in the series as well as watching the movies.

In New Moon, Edward and his “family” throw Bella a birthday party but it turns into a big mess after a tiny paper cut. After that Edward realizes that he does not want Bella to be in harm’s way anymore and leaves. Bella, devastated, goes into a zombielike state for about four months.  But shortly after that she meets up with her old friend Jacob, which she soon comes to find out that he is a werewolf. She constantly tries to put herself in danger just to see Edward again. But when Edward does arrive Jacob and he fight over Bella constantly. But they have to put their differences aside when Victoria returns, to keep Bella safe. Do they succeed or is Bella Swan the one they both love destroyed by the evil Victoria? I know the answer, but I’m going to let you read the book to find out.

I would give this novel a rating of  a four and a half out of  five stars. It is action packed and full of suspense, always keeping you on the edge of your seat wanting to read more. And for that reason is why I enjoy those books. I believe that the Twilight series is intended for teenagers, but I would say that this novel is intended for teenagers and older. All in all I thoroughly enjoyed New Moon and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good action/ suspense novel.
