First off, not sure about the title, but i like how it sounds.

Second off, this is the post with my 12 pieces of poetry. Now, granted, these are some of the ones i just choose from a link, and there are probably others i would like. But something about poetry is really bugging me, and that thing is that I DON’T GET IT! i don’t understand the meaning of almost half the poems i read ( now that i think about it, its much more then half, its more like 99.9999998% i somewhat get)! If these poem are supposed to have some deep meaning, then they have failed to draw an arrow to the reader saying “HERE IT IS! thats the meaning!” and then the reader would go “OH!! i get it now!” 

No such luck .

And some of these are so simple, that they don’t seem like poetry . I.e  The frog jumps sound of water…What?!?! My 3 year old cousin could’ve wrote that! Anyone with half a founctining brain could’ve wrote that! Someone in a coma could’ve wrote that! A hobo who doesn’t know how to read and write could’ve WROTE THAT!

I could go on

Anyway, heres my quote/unquote (why didn’t i just put those in ” “?) 12 favorite poems. (tyhe first 3 will have an explanation why…if i can think of one.)

1.Side kicks by Ronald Koertge. I think this poem (i almost put book here), because its first of all, sorta funny it giving the discreption of the sidekick. I laughed at ears as big as kidneys. but its really true. The “bullet” could refer to the actual sense that a sidekick could jump in front of a bullet to save the hero, but when i heard this, i thought of some kind of clique, and the “leader” did something wrong, so a crony (not sure if i spelt that one right (crow-knee)) took the blame to keep the other guy out of the dog house.

2.Gee, you’re so beautiful, its starting to rain by richard brautigan. Like most poems, i’m not sure if it has some deep meaning, but i think its funny so i choose it. So theres this guy, who digs this chick so much, he want her to one of the subjects in school. if you ask me, hes  a little obsessesed, or desperate… Or both? And plus, he thinks that he’d get an A+ in her class, and i just laughed. My thoughts were this, exactly ” So, you can get an A+ in her class, but you can’t ask her out on a date? You’re going to have a lonely life my friend.”

3.Kyrie by Tomas Transtromer (sounds a lot like Transformer…yeah, i’m a nerd..) This poem was kinda cool, why? hmm, not sure. I think maybe because it sorta gives me a deja vu feeling in the first part…
