Reader’s Profile!
In CyberEnglish we read books. And I love reading books. So far in this quarter I have read coming of age, love stories and young adult. I do a lot of reading outside of class. I like reading both in class and out of class because then you adventure more into the book. I liked the books that I got to pick out because you had more of a variety and something you want to read instead of something your teacher makes you read. I feel really good about the books I chose to read this quarter because they were something I know about or a sequel to something I have read already.
I think my feelings to the book made it better to read than something I didn’t want to read. I learned a lot about myself by reading because when I read I felt different things during different parts of the book than I thought I would. I also learned more about how other people feel about things by reading different books. To make me be a better reader I think I should start reading books that are a little bit higher level than what I have been reading. Maybe I should read like a mystery or something that I usually wouldn’t read to see if I like it better.
There really isn’t a hard part of reading for me. Its just big words in a book that I don’t know make it harder to understand. I think reading for me is easy if I like the book. How I determine a book to read is if the title sounds like something I would read and the cover. Otherwise I most likely wouldn’t read it. I have quit reading a book once because I wasn’t reading it really often so I just never picked it back up and I couldn’t remember what happened last in it. A good book to me is something I find interesting or can compare myself or other people to. A bad book would be something I have no relation to at all or doesn’t make sense to me.
Since in CyberEnglish we do a lot of reading on the computer I really don’t think that’s reading because a book is something you should be able to actually touch not just a screen to read. A book is something you can take with you everywhere even though you can have your book with you on a mobile device it’s still something you can’t touch. I think reading a book on the computer is a different reading experience because you cant actually see you reading it, its just on a screen. I would rather have an actual book to hold.
