The character I most relate to is Haralambos in Barba Nikos. I think I am most like him because he is someone who doesn’t like to try new things just like me. The grocery clerk has him try new things and some times he ends up liking them and other times he ends not liking them. This happens to me a lot that I try new stuff and sometimes end up liking them and other times not liking them. Haralambos learns lessons like what to do and what not to do. It seemed like he learned from his lesson and would never do it again. I have made mistakes before to and have learned from them and probably would never do them again. He made pretty big mistakes like stealing food and disrespecting people. He will learn to work for his money so he can buy food and support his family instead on just stealing. Haralambos also learns to respect his elders and to listen to them because they are quite smart and know what they are talking about. I have learned that before to because you may never get that time with them again. Haralambos probably will never get that time with the grocery clerk ever again and regrets it because he wants to know where to find those figs and to learn more about him as a person. The mistakes I made were not the same as he made but we are similar by making mistakes and having to try new things.

Short Fiction Post
The story I can not get out of my head is The Scarlet Ibis. I can not get this out of head because it is different from all the other ones and shows cruelty. The Scarlet Ibis also shows a different plot than all the other it is about a little boy and his older brother. Doodle is the main character and when he was born he wasn’t normal and his older brother was very upset because he wanted a normal brother. Doodles brother was not very nice to him he made him touch his coffin when he got old enough that his family was going to put him in when he died. His brother almost left him out in the woods when he could not walk or crawl unless he touched the coffin and Doodles biggest fear is being along. Another thing brother did is walked away from him when the rain came and Doodle started running for him and took all the energy he had and scared him so much that he fell over and died. The doctor told the family when Doodle was born that he would not be able to do much and would slowly have to learn things if he survived. Brother also planned a way to kill Doodle by smothering him with a pillow so he wouldn’t have to be embarrassed of him anymore. Brother wasn’t always cruel he just had some times that he was but after awhile he started to love his brother and never really meant to hurt him.
