It is now the second quarter of the school year, and time to reflect on what I all accomplished during the first quarter of Cyber English. I believe I did a lot and will continue to keep up my work ethics.
Just like all of my other classes, I get homework assignments and I am expected to turn them in on time. I don’t think I have ever gotten a late on any of my assignments, not only in Cyber English but also in all my other classes. I believe I work hard to keep up on all my homework, even when I am participating in other after school activities, which I am in a lot of. Sometimes I am up late at night doing my homework, but I know it is all worth it in the end. Meeting deadlines is very important because if you want to get a good grade, the first thing you have to do is turn in your work on time. If you don’t do that, then it’s going to be extremely hard to get at least a B.
Also, if you want to receive a decent grade in Cyber English, you need to listen and follow directions. When Ms. Degenhardt is explaining instructions I listen very closely. Also when I am writing a blog or a page or whatever it may be, I always read the directions over a couple times to make sure I am doing everything correct. I don’t believe I have ever lost points in Cyber English for not following directions. Listening to Ms. Degenhardt’s directions is important because if you don’t listen or follow directions, you will have no idea what you’re supposed to be doing. Obviously, if you don’t know what you’re doing, you won’t know when the assignments due, and you will probably turn it in late.
In Cyber English, we usually have a couple assignments to do at one time, which means that we have to multitask a lot. This is the part that I sometimes struggle with. It’s not that I turn things in late because I don’t have enough time. It’s that I get worried that I won’t have enough time to finish them all so I race through them and don’t put my best work into them. Because I do this I have extra time at the end of the class anyways to work on them, but I have already finished. One way that I can improve this is to remember to take my time, and check over my work a couple times. Also, if I don’t have to enough time at school, I can always finish it at my house. If I remember to take my time while writing and finishing my assignments, I should be able to overcome my struggles.
All throughout high school, and probably even college I am going to have to be an independent student. That means I have to find out what to do, and not always rely on my teacher for help. I believe I am pretty good finding things on my own. Usually I will search for whatever I have to find, but if after a long time I still cannot find it, I will either ask my teacher or my friend. Computers don’t always like me, so sometimes I have to ask about the computers and problems I have with them, but I almost never have to ask for help about an assignment. I can find answers on my own by usually looking at Ms.Degenhardt’s website and if it’s not there just remember to keep on looking. It’s important to be independent and seek answers for myself because when I grow up and get a job, people aren’t always going to be there just to answer my questions. I am going to have to learn how to find things out for myself.
During class, I believe I am very attentive, and not very distractive. I always listen to the teacher when she is talking. I try my hardest not to be a distraction to others, because I know that I get really frustrated when others are talking and I can’t hear the directions. Also I believe that I pay attention to other students when they are talking. There is nothing more embarrassing then when I am trying to make a presentation and people are talking. When people do that I feel like they think they are so much better than me. That’s why whenever people are talking I will listen quietly because I don’t what to be disrespectful to them because that is just rude.
I play my own role in what I do, and how far I will go in my life. With that being said, I believe in order to succeed, you must go above and beyond. I actually think that I do that most of the time. I study for almost every single test I have, no matter what the class. Also I like to volunteer for things that I don’t have to do. No one every forced me to do any of these things, but I believe in order to really go somewhere in my life, I should do more than just what people ask of me.
I have noticed these things about me in this past quarter. I believe these aspects have made me who I am today, and I hope that I continue staying this way and working as hard as I do now.
