Listen and Help Us

The word childish is said a lot around, and towards us. Why are we being called childish, if that’s what we are, we are just kids. We know we don’t know everything, but we know you don’t know everything also. We learn from you, but adults also make mistakes. There are many things in our history that even if they weren’t taught to us in school, that we would know what to fix, or what we could have done so nothing would have when wrong. Imagination is something that kids and teen have plenty of. We can think what ever we want, and not always think “is it useful to me”, or “how will it work out for me in the future”, you see, that’s what adults do. Us kids can go out there and think what every we want, and try to accomplish it, but adults will think right away, how it will work. We just try to go out there and do it.  We learn a lot from adults, but they should also learn from us, they need to listen to us. If we have a question that we can’t answerer by ourselves, or with our friends, we go to you, the adults that we hope know the answerer to the problem or question. But you don’t always know, and that’s fine, again, we don’t all know everything. But adults could learn from us how to create, and learn new things and opportunities, and that because of our imagination. If we have an idea, you should encourage it, and try to help us with it. If it doesn’t hurt anybody, you need to at least help us try, even if you don’t think it will work, because if it does, than we both would have learned something. Restrictions are in place for reasons. We know that, it’s so that way we don’t get ourselves in trouble. But some rules are there for things that would be fine in our opinions. Like our schools dress code. If I wore a shirt that did have a weapon on it, I don’t think anyone would be offended by it, or be terrified. Its just a picture, that’s all, and there is no reason to outcast it inside the school. Hats and sunglasses can be a distraction sometimes, but its not like that what would be making us fail the class. If I was distracted by my hat, but I didn’t bring it with me one day, the next day it would be the pencil. Its not the object that distracts us, its that it caught our attention for a few seconds, and that we would like to look at it closer for just a second. And for some of the low expectations that adults have for us, if you keep bringing it up, we will then start doing it. Most of it is common sense to us, but since you keep nagging us about it, we will start doing it because it is stuck in our heads. Kids dream big, and try hard to accomplish there dreams, but we don’t get very far. It is very important that you talk to us about what we want to accomplish. If you talk to us, you might be able to help us with what we dream. We will grow up just like you did. But when we get to your age, we will want to try and do things differently. Cause we have imagination now, we hope to carry that with us to adulthood, and change the ways of our nation, teach our youth new things, that’s what you should be doing now, changing today’s ways from yesterday. Listen to us now because we are tomorrow’s leaders, so teach us what you can, but listen to what we have to say also. You need to help us succeed for our future plans, and what we want to do today. Again, you need to talk to us, and try and help us.
