Through the CustrMap widget in my blog, I’ve been able to track the visitors I’ve had to my blog. So far, I’ve had visitors from the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Italy, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Austria, Spain, Honduras, Hong Kong, India, and Guatemala. I really like this widget because, frankly, it’s nice to know that there really are people reading my blog. It’s also really interesting to see the range of different people from different countries. I look forward to seeing if the number of people who have visited my blog has grown and watching the list of countries grow.
Knowing your audience and the fact that you have an audience adds a kind of pressure when I write, because it comes with the realization that every word I write can be seen by anyone from anywhere. We’re not always aware of this, and being able to track the number of visitors to your blog highlights the fact that our blogs extend past our English classroom, and there’s a motivation to put more effort into our blog.
Nice to meet you, Amy. I look forward to getting to know you better.
