Nutrition Labels Help!
From this lesson I learned a lot about daily intake. I learned how important it is to make sure that you are eating enough but to make sure you don’t eat too much. I also learned that there are more then just calories, and that you have to pay attention to sugars and protein, and so many other things on food labels. Serving size is a huge deal because many people aren’t used to the portion of food that they should be eating. I learned a lot more then just facts that I should be looking for though, I learned that I should be watching what I eat too, because when I looked at how many calories I should be taking in it is way under what I should be eating. The average 14-18 year old girl should be eating about 2000 calories. The calories I and eating are probably not good calories to be eating. There is also a lot of sodium in what I eat, which isn’t good. Most of the food in our lunch line doesn’t have these nutritional labels that kids should be reading. I really think it would be better for a lot of people’s health if there were food labels on everything, even here at school. I think this lesson made everyone think about all the bad things they are eating and what they should be watching about the foods they eat too. This was a really good lesson to go over because it will make people think about the food they are taking in everyday.
