The genres that I read this quarter were fiction and non-fiction. One of the books that I read was “Pop” and it was a good book because it had a lot of conflicts in it. Outside of class I might read magazines or a book about sports because I love sports. I enjoy books about sports and involve action the most. I don’t really enjoy anything that is a fairytale or anything that jumps around from one thing to another.
I liked the books that I picked better than the stories we read in class because the books that I read have a lot of action in them. The books we read in class were a lot slower and were harder to follow. I liked the books that I read this quarter a lot because they showed that respect is the key to life and they had a lot going on in them. I thought that my response to the book made it seem a lot more interesting because I always thought the books were great.
Through the different books that I read, I learned that you should respect people in life even if you don’t like them at all because it might affect you over a long period of time. For the second quarter, I will read more books and I will choose mostly books that have a lot of action in them because when I read books with action in them, it makes reading a lot more fun. I will probably read some non-fiction or fiction book for quarter two that has a lot to do with action and sports or maybe I will read a mystery.
The hardest part about reading for me is taking the time to sit down and take a book out instead of just watching TV because it is hard to just hard start reading when there is a TV nearby. The easiest part about reading is that when I start reading a book, it is hard to stop reading it because when I read a good book, I can never get it out of my head.
I determine which book I want to read by skimming the first chapter and by its genre or maybe even the topic that it involves. Through the years, I always finish the book I am reading because I get so into it. A book is good when it has a lot of action or conflicts with people because it makes it thrilling and more interesting. A book is bad when there isn’t much going on and it keeps switching from one thing to another because it can be boring to read a book with nothing happening in it.
I think it is still reading but it is weird to not read the book because you wouldn’t go to the library anymore or be able to flip through pages. Reading would be very different if we used technology instead of a book. I believe this because you would be looking at a screen instead of flipping through the pages and you wouldn’t be holding the book in your hands.
