The genres I love to read are any fiction:  science fiction, historic fiction, you name it! I always have to read a book where my imagination is needed. If I were to read a non-fiction book I would have to have a guided imagination, I’d have to know where places are, what their like, and get a deep background into it before I read the book. I rather provide my imagination so I like it the way I read it, not the way the author implied it in their own image.

I have a better time reading books I choose. This is because it is my own interests. The lessons I learn will come to me whenever I realize an important aspect in the book. If I were to read a book chosen for me, I won’t get the lesson till I think about it and once I’m already finished with the reading. That type of reading disturbs me; I won’t understand and will end up with a bunch of questions in my head.

The book I chose to read was entirely fiction. No doubt about it. This helps me use my imagination. When I use my imagination I gain more skills on how to write. Also I can learn from the mistakes authors may or may not have already made. This book was about Vampires (not real). But it gave a very ‘relate to’ image into the reading. You could see where the protagonist was coming from even if they were not real in the first place. That’s what young adult fiction books are all about.

I learn that sometimes there are people out there that are just like you or I, same problems, same pros and cons. the same faults we realize from ourselves and the others around us. This also gives me an idea on how to write reality towards fiction. I have learned that stories don’t always have happy endings. Because of this reality is put out more for the reader to realize their choices in life aren’t always a good thing. People can learn from readings by the consequences in a book.

It is hard for me to determine if I can adapt to new types of books. My father has tried to convince me in reading a book about the universe and how it works. The way I learn is a bad habit. I don’t want to know too much about life, about the beyond in life. I’m not sure if I can read books about the real world, I think I’m scared for what I may come to know. Then again I should realize that there are some things out there that are worth reading than hearing.

When it comes to reading, I believe understanding some parts is a difficult thing to do. As a reader you don’t know how the author see’s things. No one does. You can’t determine if a scene from a book is supposed to be put out one way or another. This is why we all have our own imagination and that detail is crucial in the reading world. The easiest part of reading is finding out something that the protagonist has not. It gets you excited and you have a slight frustration toward the protagonist for not realizing what you have. Then again that can be sometimes hard too, especially if your wrong in the end.

I read the summary in the book jacket. This gives me a good idea on how this book will end up. Of course you’ll never know the beginning by reading the summary but you’ll learn throughout the book what the summary was trying to get you into.

I have quit on a book before. This was probably because it was spoiled. A friend of mine had read one of the last pages and told me what would happen. It ruined my entire perspective on reading it. And this book was a great reading book for me. I loved the book so far and wanted to continue. But as it was spoiled, there was no way I could continue without becoming frustrated in the end.

I have never read a book, finished a book I haven’t liked. But I believe why people do this is because they want to know if the book ever gets better. This is just a little hope we put into the authors work to see if it’s worth reading again.

I don’t believe in bad books. I have my opinions but I will not judge the author’s style of writing. Because we all have our opinions, books aren’t always liked. I will read a book and like most of it, but at times I will become fixated on their type of style is not so good. I will point out multiple times when an author has repeated the same style. This is a lack of creativity (wrong). This is a lack of variety (right). Good books are everywhere. You might not like them, but others will.

Books online are disturbing in my opinion. My eyes will die of the amount of time is spend on a computer. Reading on a computer is horrible to me because I’m on the computer long enough as it is. If I want to read a computer, I’ll go to a library. A library is the ENTIRE POINT of reading. They are books. Online reading is a waste of their time; librarian’s time, and not fair to the publishers and librarians.
