I am a ninth grader at Sheboygan Falls High School

Hello, my name is Sam, as you can see. In high school the question, “What do you want to be when you are older?” gets thrown around a lot. I’m not really sure what I want to be yet. I have a ton of options; I could be an artist, a writer, a photographer, a musician, or a singer. I want to have those jobs because that is what I am good at and what I like to do. But I change and so will my future career choice. When I was little I remember wanting to be a ladybug, I know now that that isn’t possible. We can’t really be anything in the world like everyone seems to be telling us but if we work hard enough we can have a job that we enjoy going to in the morning. If we work hard enough then we can have options.

In my family almost no one has gone to college. Everyone is expecting me to, I am expecting me to. I want to get an education and be the first one in the family to go to college and to get an education and to get a good job that I like. I know that it’s a big goal to take on but I think if I work hard enough I can do it. What college I want to go to is a whole different story, like what job I want, I’m not really sure yet.

To get to college and to get a good job there are steps I have to take. I’m going to join clubs; I’m going to get involved in school. I’ll get involved outside of school. I have to keep up my grades for a scholarship. I have to take classes that will challenge me. I know that it’ll be hard but if I keep getting good grades and if I keep trying my best I can do anything.
